With gas prices still climbing and national terror threats popping up like spring weeds, it’s a tough time to get out of town. Luckily, the Arizona International Festival brings sights and sounds from countries all over the world together in one day — with no passport or papers required.
“The [festival] is perfect for those who cannot afford to travel the globe,” says founder Ashraf Elgamal.
Look for music, dancing, food, shopping and entertainment inspired by various world cultures, including performances by Latino folksinger Veronica Lopez, Japanese sword fighters, a belly dancing troupe and a Middle Eastern band.
