“Fusion” is one of those buzz words that gets tossed around so much that they lose their meaning and/or get really annoying to hear. Be that as it may, fusing disparate elements in a complementary manner can yield positive results; for example, combining Middle Eastern belly dancers with an all-American rock ‘n’ roll bar.
Leave it to Alice Cooper’stown to make that synergy happen. The baseball/rock themed venue hosts the World Fusion Party, where a collective of dancers, artists, and musicians will perform their world music-inspired talents live. The entertainment features Blonde Ambition Belly Dancers Sabah and Lauren, who will showcase fusion-style belly dancing with the Bellydance Superstars. Also on the bill are Valley belly dancers Neena Nour and Meena Gorgese, who just returned from a tour of Europe and the Middle East. Local band Cosmos performs its Mediterranean-fusion tunes as well.
