Young Adult Writing Conference Brings Workshops and a Star-Studded Author Lineup to Phoenix This Weekend

Head’s up to all writers, aspiring writers, or anyone looking for something interesting and different to do this weekend: Changing Hands, will present its annual Young Adult Writing Conference this Saturday, January 26.

The conference, which runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., will feature 10 young adult fiction authors, which includes several New York Times bestsellers

The featured authors will be Laura Ellen, James A. Owen, Amy Fellner Dominy, C.J. Hill (aka Janette Rallison), Cecil Castelluci, Tom Leveen, Suzanne Young, Shannon Messenger, Erin Jade Lange and Suzanne Lazear.

There are four informative sessions total, including “Unforgettable Characters,” “Heroes vs. Villains,” “Writing Realistic Dialogue,” and “Essentials of SciFi/Fantasty.” The schedule allows for participants to choose three of the four.

There will be also be a box lunch provided with registration fee, which will be enjoyed during a panel discussion on the difference between young adult and middle grade fiction. The conference will take place at Dobson High School in Mesa, 1501 W. Guadalupe Road.
