Arizona State’s women’s soccer team may be on the verge of something big. Not only have the Sun Devils gotten off to a great start (the team ripped off six straight wins en route to a 7-1-1 start), but they’ve racked up their wins on the strength of huge contributions from underclassmen. The Devils’ top defender and two of their top four scorers are true freshmen. On top of that, the team’s star player, forward Cali Farquharson, is still just a junior. With so much young talent, an appearance in the NCAA tournament may very well be in the cards for ASU.
You can catch the Sun Devils in action on Friday, October 3, when they take on Pac-12 rivals Oregon at Sun Devil Soccer Stadium, 655 South Athlete’s Place. The game kicks off at 7 p.m. and presents a chance for the Devils to feel out their conference strength. Visit www.thesundevils.com.
