Asian Gallery Reopens at Phoenix Art Museum

With the help of architecture and environmental design firm Studio Ma, Phoenix Art Museum spent the last year redesigning the Asian Gallery, located in the South Wing on the first floor.

"When the museum opened the Katz Wing for Modern Art in 2006 it became apparent that the two wings were not cohesive," says PR Manager Mindi Carr. "The intention was to update the galleries and modernize the space."

The redesign was paid for by city bond funds from the 2006 bond election. The second floor galleries (Western, American and European) are also being revamped and will open at the end of January.
