For all of it’s bells and whistles, drag racing may be one of the most basic forms of competition there is. The whole thing boils down to a question of “who can go the fastest?” and, a second or two after the race starts, that question is answered and a winner is crowned. No competition in Arizona has crowned more of those winners than the CARQUEST Auto Parts NHRA Nationals.

The race will return to Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park, 20000 Maricopa Road in Chandler, this weekend. Sunday, February 22’s finals aren’t the last race of the season, but they will determine who can go the fastest.

The races begin at 8 a.m. Tickets start at $20 and are available online via www.nhra.com.
