Few shows capture life in your 20s quite as well as HBO’s Girls. Lena Dunham’s project covers everything from employment and financial struggles to friendships and relationships. Of course, sex — realistic sex, at that — has always been one of the show’s major topics (both because it’s appropriate and because it’s HBO, where they’ll throw sex into anything). Before the show comes back for its penultimate season, here are the 10 most relatable sex scenes from Girls.

Jessa’s Bloody Bar
If you’re ever in need of an opener at a bar, apparently all you have to do is ask someone to use their phone. That kicks off Jessa’s first on-screen sexual encounter, although it’s cut short due to her period interrupting the fingering foreplay. Really though, what better way to show off Jessa’s admirably reckless nature that early in the show?

Parental Shower Sex
Fifty-something parents having shower sex is an awkward scene for any show, but Girls goes the commendable route with it when Hannah’s dad falls and hurts himself. All too often, Hollywood ignores the perils of shower sex to make it look hot and fun. In reality, showers are meant for cleaning — not being dirty — and make for quite a dangerous setting for sex (as Mr. Horvath’s naked body being sprawled out on the bathroom floor reminds us).

From the Window to the Closet
When Jessa hooks up with her ex, Eric, it’s mere minutes after he insists on the two of them only being friends. As if that’s not relatable enough, she ends up bent over an open window while Shoshanna hides in the closet. Don’t act like that’s never happened to you before.

Graveyard Getting Down
Just when you think sex can’t get weirder (or arguably worse) for Hannah, she decides to go and have a 10-second-stand with Jessa’s teenage and strange stepbrother. As another bizarre layer, they hook up (if it can even be called that) in a graveyard. If you’ve never had a disappointing under-a-minute quickie in a strange public place, have you really even had sex?

Marnie’s Booth Adventure
Everyone has that one story (or at least has a friend who has that one story) about the time you went home with someone only to find out their place was really weird. Well, that story probably doesn’t hold a candle compared to the artist that Marnie loosely dated toward the beginning of the series. Unless you’re into watching some weird TV and super creepy dolls, this sex scene probably creeped you out a little bit.

Totally Not an Attached Bleeder
Think back to the first time you were ever about to have sex. Odds are, the possibilities of clinginess and blood being involved both crossed your mind. As the most reserved character, Shoshanna certainly had a penchant for awkwardly relatable sex scenes. Sure, some of her times with Ray were pretty memorable (particularly the first and last), but did anyone not feel for her when her summer camp crush told her he was concerned she was going to get attached and bleed all over the place her first time?

The Eye-Rolling
During those episodes when you get sick of listening to privileged girls whine about how hard life in New York is, Elijah (and sometimes Ray and/or Adam) seems to make all the sense in the world. Hannah’s gay roommate and ex-boyfriend drops some hilarious lines over the seasons he’s in, but maybe none quite as snippy as when he accuses Marnie of ruining their sex by rolling her eyes. There’s not being into it, and then there’s the Marnie eye roll.

Shoshanna’s Dumb Sex
Raise your hand if you’ve ever hooked up with someone “too dumb to find the library!” We pity anyone who’s still got both hands on the keyboard (or phone, tablet, whatever).

On All Fours
Adam loves weird sex. That became painfully apparent early on in the series. When he and Hannah break up and Adam meets Natalia, the sex starts fairly vanilla but evolves into some really depraved stuff, with her crawling across the floor. Even if you’re not the depraved one in the relationship, there’s a good chance your partner is.

Eleven-Year-Old Junkie
The best sex scene in Girls happened in the second episode. Some people took offense to Adam creating an entire backstory for Hannah being a grade-school-aged prostitute with a drug problem, but the rest just found it ridiculous and hilarious. Even the tamest of lovers have accidentally said something strange (or outright wrong) in bed, and this is just another example of Adam’s atypical sexual desires.
