Not every spring festival in the Valley will be happening at a music venue or local park. Case in point: PhxArt Amplified Vol. 4 on Saturday — a daylong “audio-visual experience” featuring immersive installations, performances and vendors — will unfold throughout Phoenix Art Museum.

The event, which has been put on since 2018 on by the Men’s Arts Council at PAM, is a high-concept cultural showcase that mixes captivating visual art with genre-defying sounds.

Performances by bands and artists take place in gallery spaces while engagement programming is offered elsewhere on the property.

Giovana Aviles, the MAC’s curator of engagement, says PhxArt Amplified is unlike other local festivals.

“We’re calling it an audio-visual experience because not only are people going to hear all of these bands, they can also explore the museum and see all of our newer exhibitions,” Aviles told Phoenix New Times in 2024. “Having our space be completely transformed by music is unique and cool. There's no other cultural institutions (locally) doing this sort of event.”

PhxArt Amplified Vol. 4 on Saturday will feature sets by touring indie bands from Arizona, Mexico and around the Southwest, including Daniel, Me Estás Matando, Valgur and Diles Que No Me Maten. Visual art installations, pop-up activations by local vendors, and a variety of food and drinks will be part of the experience.
