LEGO lovers of the Valley, block out some time this weekend. A new LEGO Store is set to open Friday at Scottsdale Quarter, packed with more sets of colored plastic bricks than you could possibly afford.

Better snap together some extra cash, unless minifigs are the only thing in your budget.

The 2,314-square-foot spot, which is located at 15279 N. Scottsdale Road, Unit F1-170, is metro Phoenix’s third LEGO Store, joining locations at Arrowhead Towne Center in Glendale and Chandler Fashion Center. A LEGOLAND Discovery Center has also operated at Arizona Mills Mall since 2016.

What’s inside the new store? Bricks — and lots of them. Floor-to-ceiling shelves are stacked with a wide range of boxed sets from all of LEGO’s most popular themes, including pop-culture favorites like “Star Wars” and “Harry Potter.” There’s also a “Pick & Build Wall” where patrons can fill cups with individual bricks, a “Build-a-Mini” tower for creating custom figures and play tables to work on creations.

The grand opening of Scottsdale Quarter’s LEGO Store is from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday. Following a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a custom mural celebrating Scottsdale’s history will be created behind the store near the Scottsdale Quarter’s splash pads. Patrons can build individual squares to be added to the mural.

Local LEGO enthusiast groups Cactus Brick and Valley of the Brick will also be on hand at the opening, flexing their building skills and showing off some of some impressive recent creations.

The store will also offer special deals and exclusives during its opening week. Patrons can get a free “I (Love) LEGO Store” tile with purchase from July 11 to 13. LEGO Insiders members who spend $150 or more on Saturday can get an exclusive New Store Opening set. And anyone who purchases $50 or more will receive a reusable themed tote.

As any LEGO fanatic can tell you, there tends to be a lot of demand for exclusives. In other words, better hit the bricks early when heading to the store.

Regular hours for the LEGO Store at Scottsdale Quarter are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
