Phoenix’s first Micro Center store just moved one step closer to opening its doors. Earlier this week, the Ohio-based tech retail chain began accepting applications for management roles at its new location.

The store, which is expected to open at the Arcadia Crossing shopping center near 44th Street and Thomas Road, will be Micro Center’s first location in Arizona.

According to the company’s job site, it’s hiring for four management positions for its Phoenix store, including a general manager, a retail sales and merchandising manager and an assistant manager of computer services.

Micro Center is now accepting applications and resumes through the site, as well as hiring platforms like Indeed and ZipRecruiter.

Micro Center is a popular stop for tech-heads, PC builders and computer enthusiasts. Each of its 29 stores in the U.S. are packed with motherboards, CPUs, GPUs and other computing components. You’ll also find monitors, laptops, prebuilt rigs, networking gear, gaming accessories and a wide variety of 3D printers and supplies.

Local geeks and makers have been clamoring for a Micro Center location in Arizona for years, including posting numerous requests to social media and message boards on the chain’s website.

As one Valley resident stated on Reddit, “Micro Center is the king of retail when it comes to PC electronics.”

While Phoenix’s first Micro Center store hasn’t been officially announced by the company, the job posting and other evidence are evidence it’s already in the works.

In April, the city of Phoenix issued Micro Center a partial interior demolition permit for a 36,801-square-foot vacant property at Arcadia Crossing that’s the former home of a Conn’s HomePlus, which closed in 2024. A copy of the permit has been posted on the location's front entrance.

A marketing brochure on the website of SRS Real Estate Partners, the firm overseeing leasing at Arcadia Crossing, also states a Micro Center is "coming soon."
