The Box Doodle Project

One new idea for every day in 2011. We're talking big, small, local, international, in action and on the drawing board. Here's today's -- what's yours?

Five years ago, David Hofmann doodled on a box.

It was a lighthearted character, which he made by folding the cardboard a few times and then adding goofy eyes and a grin. The box had charm, and Hoffman was hooked.

The German artist asked his friends to create box doodles. He made a website and put the call out for photos of box-made characters all over the world.

Five years later, Box Doodle is a platform for a variety of submitted monsters, robots and cardboard animals.

If nothing else, it will make moving a lot more interesting.

Check out the gallery here and submit your own (or use the website's new virtual box doodle tool) here.
