Dominic Armato began freelancing for Phoenix New Times in January 2023 as a food critic though he's reported on the Valley's dining scene since 2010. In addition to New Times, Dominic has worked for other publications such as The Arizona Republic and Phoenix Magazine. He’s received numerous awards for his work including placing first for the National Headliner Award for a special or feature column in 2017; placing third for best newspaper food feature for publications with a circulation of 150,001 to 225,000 from the Association of Food Journalist Awards; and has earned multiple awards from the Arizona Press Club for statewide food and beverage reporting and statewide arts criticism.
