Director Brandon Loper’s A Film About Coffee has been touring the world for the past year — and what a year it’s been.
The film has been shown on six continents and has captured the hearts of coffee lovers globally for its fresh, beautiful look at what it takes to call a coffee “specialty.” At long last, it will make its way to Phoenix on Friday, June 5 at a screening co-sponsored by Cartel Coffee Lab and Mod.
A Film About Coffee is, truly and simply, about coffee. Highlighting growing regions in Rwanda and Honduras and specialty cafes in Tokyo, Seattle, and New York, the gorgeously shot feature examines the journey coffee takes from seed to cup and the relationship that people all around the world have with one amazing little bean.
The local screening of the film will feature fresh-brewed coffee samples, a cupping table, and brewing demonstrations. Brandon Loper will also partake in a discussion (along with Mod and Cartel) about the importance of coffee in the community. Wine and beer (craft, we’re assured) will also be available.

Tickets to the event, which will be held at Mod in downtown Phoenix, cost $25 and include a free ticket for a coffee flight or a beverage. They can be purchased online.
