This weekend Singh Farms in Scottsdale will be getting in on the artichoke action with their Aritchoke Extravaganza on Saturday, May 4.

In celebration of artichoke season they’re offering fresh-picked artichokes for $.50 a pop. And in case you’re intimidated by all those leaves, they’ll also have a chef on-site to help guests figure out how to grow, harvest and prepare the veggie.

Will you step up to support New Times this year?

At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $17,250 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.

$30,000

If you’re not looking for artichokes (for some crazy reason, because it is, after all, an artichoke event) they’ll also have Boho Farm’s spectacular lemon curd and jellies, Goldwater Mercantile’s hot sauces, musical guest Roman Orona, and local artist Hugo Medina.

The following produce/products will be available:

green onion i’itoi onion giant onion chard red mustard rosemary beets turnips carrots thyme curry sage arugula oranges mulberries parsley celery kale raw honey

As it heats up, you might be looking for more places like Singh Farms, where you can pick up produce. Here’s our list of six places to satiate your love of local produce during the summer months.
