Unless you’re really into cake, chances are you haven’t heard of David Pham and Bamboo Bakery. For years, he operated quietly in a small space in a westside strip mall. Take notice: Pham now has a 10,000 square foot bakery and showroom in central Phoenix — and he’s ready to bake.

The new location is set to have its first official open house on Thursday, October 4 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. The large non-descript building does not give away what you’ll find inside. From the start, the faint smell of cake greets your nose. High ceilings and stained concrete floors are found in the main area, and cakes of all sizes, colors and shapes are found in the middle of the expansive room.
Currently, the bakery has about 150 flavors available, and that number grows every month as more wedding cake orders come in.
Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $15,500 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
Pham says that “brides want something special out of their cakes” and many are straying from traditional designs.
The same goes for cake flavors, as the two most popular requested flavors are strawberry shortcake and pink champagne with raspberry filling.
The new location also houses a photography studio and will play host to a variety of bridal events.
