Hungry for your early morning serving of food news, with no preservatives or additives?
Chef Demonstration This Thursday, August 18th, don’t miss out on Bluewater Grill’s monthly chef demo. The central Phoenix seafood restaurant will be featuring wines from Australian winery Penfold’s (red) line pair with an Australian themed menu which will be demo’d by head chef Andrew Capek. Menu highlights include grilled shrimp bruschetta, seared barramundi (a.k.a Asian seabass) and herb crusted lamb chops.  Dinner starts at 6:30 p.m., $40 ++ per person. Save your seat by calling 602-277-3474.

Hugs and A Pie for Mikey Over the past couple days there has been an influx of peanut butter pies in the food blog world. Funny because it wasn’t this month’s Daring Bakers Challenge. Turns out food blogger and Food Network contributor Jennie Perillo lost her husband to a heart attack last week and since peanut butter pie was his favorite, she asked all of her fellow bloggers to make their version of the comforting pie in his memory. You can check out Jennie’s blog here or check out the recipe for the pretty pie above here. WARNING — both blogs are tearjerkers, you might want to have a box of tissues handy. And a jar of peanut butter.
