Keep Phoenix New Times Free
We’re aiming to raise $10,000 by April 26. Your support ensures New Times can continue watching out for you and our community. No paywall. Always accessible. Daily online and weekly in print.
We kind of can’t believe it’s already been half a decade since the Jamacian restaurant The Breadfruit opened in downtown Phoenix.

To thank customers for the years of loyal business — because it’s not always easy to be a business owner downtown — they’re having a celebration on May 16.
The anniversary celebration on Thursday, May 16 will include a five-course dinner with each course priced at just $5. There will also be $5 punch bowl specials and a complimentary rum tasting.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a real party if they didn’t also have reggae music, prizes and giveaways. A portion of the proceeds from the night will go to Roosevelt Row CDC, the nonprofit organization that advocates for the arts and small businesses of downtown.
