The challenges facing local news organizations are very real. That's why reader support matters more than ever. If you believe independent journalism matters, make a contribution today and help us reach our summer fundraising goal of $15,000 by August 9.
Yesterday we met Bruce Durack, the industry vet who’s mixing up margaritas at Los Sombreros. Today he shares with us the recipes for three of the Mexican eatery’s drinks that, beginning next month, will be part of a margarita flight offered all summer long.
“Just like you get wine flights, we’re just trying to get people onto tequila flights,” Durack says.
The ingredients:
Passion Fruit Margarita
1.5 oz. Chinaco Blanco
¾ oz. Damiana Liqueur
2 oz. sweet and sour
Lime Margarita
1.5 oz. Patron Silver
¾ oz. Patron Citronge
2 oz. sweet and sour
Pomegranate Margarita
1.5 oz. La Pinta pomegranate-infused tequila
¾ oz. Pama Pomegranate Liqueur
2 oz. sweet and sour
How to make it:
Combine ingredients in an ice-filled shaker. Mix well and strain into a glass with a salted rim and filled with ice. Garnish with a lime wheel, if desired.
