Coffee’s great for a caffeine kick, but it’s not the best thing for one’s breath. However, people looking to get a boost without acidic energy drinks and bitter java can be energized and minty-fresh with something called M Power Energy Mints.
These fat, potent tablets look like Tums, but contain 120 mg of caffeine each. There’s also 250 percent of the recommended daily allowance of Vitamin B6, 1000 micrograms of Vitamin B12, and Taurine, Ginseng, and Green Tea. That sounds like a typical energy drink mix, but there’s nothing fruity about the taste of M Power. There’s also no sugar.
Sucking on an M Power mint floods the tongue with the taste of spearmint. Biting into one is sort of like chewing a firecracker. But the sustained energy rush from one little mint is surprising. The effects are similar to drinking a cup or two of coffee, but without the jitters and bad breath. Now, if somebody would just come up with caffeinated cupcakes…
