What a sugar rush! Usually, we shy away from super-sweet coffees, choosing instead to add sugar and cream on our own to often bitter house blends. But in the case of Urban Beans‘ caramel toffee nut mocha, we didn’t need to add a thing.
Urban Beans serves a variety of coffees, teas, and locally made pastries, but the caramel toffee nut mocha seems particularly popular. The roast is heady and strong, but not the list bit bitter. Indeed, underneath the layer of white and beige swirled foam, there’s nothing but ounces of liquid sweetness.
The toffee flavor is perhaps the most pronounced, followed closely by the chocolate mocha taste. As for the “caramel” and “nut” parts of the drink, they’re so subtle as to be barely noticeable. But the caffeine and sugar rush from the caramel toffee nut mocha is hardly subtle. Drink a cup too fast, and you might get the jitters. But at least you’ll have more than enough of your daily sugar fix.
