Reader support matters more than ever
We're in the final stretch of our summer campaign. Our goal is to raise $15,000 by August 9 to support the journalism our community relies on. Reader support is helping shape the future of local news.
Get excited. We are. That’s because we’ve got the list of a dozen chefs already signed up to compete in Caramelpalooza 2012, which will take place Friday, March 2, at Smeeks candy shop in central Phoenix, from 7 p.m. til the caramel runs out.
We’re extending the deadline a bit, because we’re just that sweet.
This year’s third-annual caramel tasting, co-sponsored by Smeeks and Chow Bella, will mix things up — with categories both for traditional caramel candies and non-traditional uses of caramel. Think caramel sauce, pudding, ice cream, cookies, cupcakes, even savory foods spiked with our favorite flavor.
Participants must provide 250 wrapped, labeled samples; and your creations must be made in a commercial kitchen.
NEW deadline for entering: Tuesday, February 7.
