97: Cash Money Sandwich from The Main Ingredient Ale House
Think peanut butter and jelly sandwiches belong at the kids’ table? Then you’re never had the aptly named Cash Money Sandwich, which we would beg, barter and steal for. It may not be the same as the Elvis special, but this twist on a PB & J & B is certainly fit for a king.
Two slices of tangy sourdough bread sandwich a treasure trove of ingredients: A layer of smooth and dreamy, stick-to-your-ribs cashew butter made in house is smothered with jewel-toned red pepper-cabernet jelly that’s smoky, spicy, and sticky sweet, and the entire thing is topped off with medallions of fresh-sliced banana. Toss that sandwich on a well-buttered griddle, and watch the magic happen as all the ingredients melt into a sandwich that’s worth its weight in gold.
