Frog’s Leap and Slingshot Wine Dinner There is one thing we never get sick of —  Cheuvront’s wine dinners — and this week is no exception. Tomorrow, September 14 from 7 to 10 p.m, join the downtown restaurant and the owner of Slingshot Vineyards for an evening of wine and food. The four-course meal features frog leg lollipops, pasta two ways, a hand cut New York steak char grilled with foie gras butter, and Arborio rice pudding with stewed berries for dessert. Each course will be paired with wine selections from Napa Valley’s Frog Leap and Slingshot Vineyards. Reservations are required, $55 ++ per person. Call 602-307-0022 to save your seat. 

“Cheese” Cake This beautiful cake that we found over at (mostly) raw food blog Golubka kinda scares us. We are down for new things and the fresh fruit really makes us want to try this “cheese” cake but we’ll admit the whole “raw” concept is foreign and therefor strange. But what the heck — who knows, maybe a cheesecake made out of cashews, macadamia buts, coconut, and fresh spearmint is amazing. We’re down to find out.
