Less than three months after famed Chicago pizzeria Lou Malnati’s opened the doors to its first Arizona restaurant, another Chicagoland favorite has announced plans to bring even more deep-dish pizzas to metro Phoenix.
Later this year, Gino’s East will open a restaurant in Central Phoenix’s Arcadia neighborhood. The company’s 18th restaurant and first in Arizona will be located at 3626 East Indian School Road, formerly the home of Hazelwood’s First Place Sports Grill, which closed earlier this year.
The former Hazelwood’s building will be razed to make room for a completely new build restaurant. Gino’s East will be a 4,400-square-foot building with an expansive outdoor patio.
As at the restaurant’s other locations across Chicagoland and in Wisconsin, Texas, and Mexico City, the Phoenix restaurant will serve deep-dish pizza, thin-crust pizza, and a variety of salads and sandwiches. The restaurant will also serve beer, cocktails, and wine.
