Breaking News: Chick-fil-A Will Give You a Free Sandwich Today for Dressing Like a Cow

Can you hear the spicy chicken sandwiches and personal humiliation calling?

That may be because today is the 13th annual Cow Appreciation Day celebration at Chick-fil-A. To celebrate, they’ll be giving away a free entree to anyone willing to come in to the store in a cow costume.

The chicken-themed canteen has based their marketing strategy on the “Eat Mor Chikin” slogan since 1995, promoting the somewhat twisted notion that rebel cows were convincing humans that they should eat chicken, not beef, according to their website. Today’s celebration of National Cow Appreciation Day is a continuation of that campaign.

The rules are simple:

1. Make or buy any kind of cow apparel. (That means, if you own a Sharpie and a white top you don’t care about, chances are you, too, can partake in the free chicken madness at no expense at all.)
2. Wear your bovine ensemble to any Chick-fil-A location between now and 7 p.m.
3. Get a free entree.

Phoenix New Times will be staking out the Chick-fil-A at 25 West University Drive in Tempe until the cows come home.
