Glendale, you’ve officially got your own Chompie’s.

The local chain of New York-style delis opened it fifth Valley location on Monday, April 11 at 7700 West Arrowhead Towne Center in Glendale. The restaurant is open from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, but plans to expand its hours to include dinner late next month.

The restaurant sits at about 6,100 square feet, allowing room for some 200 diners to nosh on Chompie’s well-loved menu of bagels, benedicts, sandwiches, and more.

Since the first Chompie’s opened at 32nd Street and Shea Boulevard in 1979, the Borenstein family, who came to the Valley from Queens, New York, have established the restaurant as Arizona’s best-known location for freshly baked New York-style breads, cakes, pastries, bagels, and bialys. The restaurant specializes in dishes such as pastrami, chicken soup with matzo balls, mini potato knish, and rugelach.
