This Saturday is the last class in the Downtown Phoenix Public Market’s Winter Chef Series and the host just happens to be our very own Chow Bella contributor, Jennifer Woods.
You may know Jennifer from our Chow Bella book club or from her weekly online column In Season or from her work with Crooked Sky Farms — then again maybe you don’t have any idea who she is. Either way, her class sounds pretty awesome and we think you should give it a look.

(We may be a bit biased since we think Jennifer is one of the nicest people we’ve ever met and we have learned so much cool stuff about seasonal veggies since she’s been with us!)
Jennifer’s two-hour Saturday class will focus on how to incorporate seasonal winter veggies into your meal routine and like it!
Watch, listen, and learn as Jennifer whips up three delicious courses. Start with a bitter green salad topped with a poached egg and a warm bacon dressing paired with a glass of Arizona Stronghold’s Dayden. The second course will feature an individual pizza topped with local goat cheese, olive and greens sauce, and toasted pine nuts paired with a Rose Brut. Finish the afternoon meal off with brownie bites with candied Seville orange peel, topped with fresh whipped cream fraiche, and paired with the always tasty Sonoran white chocolate ale.
There are a few spots left; $55 per person; click here to register for the class or click here to learn more about Jennifer.
This event is sponsor by Crooked Sky Farms, Hickman’s Family Farms, The Meat Shop and Rainbow Valley Heritage Foods. All proceeds will go toward Devoured Phoenix and the Phoenix Public Market.
