Fans of Bianco DiNapoli canned tomatoes, the organically grown plum-shaped beauties in yellow containers from taste maker Chris Bianco and California cannery expert Rob DiNapoli, already know the goodness they bring to foods like marinara sauce and salsa.
Now, it seems as if folks in Chicago are destined to find out as well — and they don’t have to have them shipped from the product shelves of Pane Bianco.
The Chicago Tribune reports Bianco’s tomatoes, in addition to other artisinal foods inspired from staff travels, will be carried at Publican Quality Meats, the new Fulton Market butcher shop in Chicago.
And if the name Publican doesn’t ring a bell, the name of its owner might.

At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $16,750 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. Paul Kahan is not only a James Beard Award-winning chef, his many restaurants in Chicago, where he was born and raised, including Blackbird and the Publican (across the street from Publican Quality Meats), have garnered critical praise as well.
Publican Quality Meats, which opened last Monday, will carry Bianco DiNapoli canned tomatoes in addition to fresh-baked breads, olive oils, dairy, eggs, and jams. In the future, the butcher shop and artisinal grocery plans to offer house made sausages and charcuterie.
