Reader support matters more than ever
We're in the final stretch of our summer campaign. Our goal is to raise $15,000 by August 9 to support the journalism our community relies on. Reader support is helping shape the future of local news.
It slipped under our radar for restaurant closings in 2011, but we’ve since learned that Diverti Bar & Grill, the eatery of suds and East Coast-style overstuffed sandwiches in Tempe, was shuttered just before the New Year.
Opened in October of 2010, Diverti was preceded by the short-lived Sucker Punch Sally’s (which lasted less than six months) in the former Ruby Tuesday’s at the corner of Mill Avenue and University.
A source tells me there are already new owners ready to move into the old space and that the location will re-open as a new concept called The Front Door.
Details to come.
