The challenges facing local news organizations are very real. That's why reader support matters more than ever. If you believe independent journalism matters, make a contribution today and help us reach our summer fundraising goal of $15,000 by August 9.
Open barely more than a year, The Kitchen by Good Eats Grocer, located at The Shops at Gainey Village, is the latest restaurant casualty. Today, the doors are locked and the lights are off.
Calls to the gourmet grocery store/bistro end up in a voicemail menu to nowhere, while the website is automatically directed to the company’s California HQ, where no one was able to confirm the reason for the closure.
The Kitchen was nearly identical to Dish, its predecessor, featuring ready-to-eat meals to-go, cheeses, bread, charcuterie, pizza, salads and other gourmet items in the retail portion, and sit-down restaurant service at the bistro at the back of the space.
