Downtown Chandler, already bustling with a dozen restaurants bordering its block-long A.J. Chandler Park, is preparing to welcome yet another: Coach & Willie’s.
Eric Stoltz, an owner of the downtown Phoenix tavern, says he and his partner hope to open a second location on the southeast corner of Arizona Avenue and Boston Street in about six months.
The 6,000-square-foot building formerly was occupied by Naughty But Nice lingerie shop.
“We really love downtown areas,” Stoltz says. “Plus, I live in Chandler.”
Stoltz says the Chandler location will offer the same menu of sandwiches, burgers, pizzas and pastas. Like its Phoenix sibling, it also will have a dozen beers on tap.
The Chandler restaurant will have a side patio along Arizona Avenue once the city’s current construction project of street-side improvements is finished, Stoltz says.
“The downtown Chandler location also will allow us to do some things we aren’t able to do at our Phoenix location, which is more event-driven,” Stoltz says. “For example, one of the things we’re planning is a Sunday champagne brunch.”
