It’s been a few months since we chatted with Crudo chef Cullen Campbell and he told us he wanted to launch weekly or bi-weekly polenta board dinners. We were immediately in love with the idea of the family-style dinners that would offer roasted meats, pickled vegetables and side jars of house-made sauces.

Finally, the wait is over. You can now get your polenta fix twice a week at the Arcadia restaurant. Best of all, the deal includes a bottle of wine.

The chef has started offering polenta board dinners on Wednesday from 5 to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 5 to 9 p.m. Diners can get a large polenta board and a bottle of wine for just $20 a person.

The food will be served on custom wooden platters loaded with a variety of gourmet toppings. The theme/toppings will change each week but imagine things like hay-smoked pork butt with sautéed broccolini and braised kale with roasted root veggies. They’ll also be accompanied by jars of housemade sauces such as salsa verde, red wine sugo, roasted garlic and shredded parmigiano. The meal will include a bottle of red or white wine and a large Farmer Crudo salad.

Campbell will be making the polenta with local Hayden Flour Mills cornmeal — so the boards will be able to be made gluten-free. In Italy polenta used to be made with grains including farro, millet, or chickpeas and was traditionally served family-style with whatever toppings were available.

Reservations are recommended for the bi-weekly event. Just mention that you’ll be coming in for the polenta board.
