It was tempting enough to take frequent jaunts to the East Valley when Wisconsin-based Culver’s debuted in Mesa a couple years ago, but now the Midwestern favorite is heading to Central Phoenix, bringing its famous ButterBurgers to a stretch of the city that’s surprisingly sparse when it comes to fast food burger chains.
A new Culver’s is set to open at 825 E. Camelback Road in February; the VIP Grand Opening is scheduled for January 30.
Never been to Culver’s? The famous ButterBurger is the main attraction, named for its buttered, lightly toasted bun. Luscious frozen custard — served up as sundaes, shakes, and floats — is another Culver’s specialty.
Beyond burgers and fries, the menu also includes a variety of sandwiches (Philly steak, Reuben melt, turkey sourdough BLT, etc.) and dinner entrees (fried chicken, beef pot roast, North Atlantic cod).
