The challenges facing local news organizations are very real. That's why reader support matters more than ever. If you believe independent journalism matters, make a contribution today and help us reach our summer fundraising goal of $15,000 by August 9.
Co+Hoots, the collaborative, co-working space for creative entrepreneurs in downtown Phoenix, is set to host a start-up shop of the caffeine kind right inside its walls.

“This is just the beginning of what will be a flurry of restaurants, retail and entrepreneurship that will land on Washington Row,” says Co+Hoots founder, Jenny Poon. “To continue Co+Hoots’ goal in increasing our influence on Phoenix small businesses, we want to help nurture and grow companies we believe fill a need in our community.”
Poon is talking about GreaterThan Coffee, the java shop scheduled to grand open Monday, January 28, in the front retail space of the Co+Hoots building.
From Tanya Moushi and Tricky Burns, GreaterThan Coffee will feature coffee, tea, and snacks for its built-in clientele of entrepreneurs (who helped with the coffee shop’s branding, design work, and marketing) as well as those popping in and off the 12th Street and Washington/Jefferson light rail stop.
“We are beyond enthused to be bringing on GreaterThan Coffee,” says Co+Hoots director of operations, Kelsey Wong. “It represents the perfect opportunity to bring together the best of both worlds, coffee and coworking.”
GreaterThan Coffee will be offering 25% off all drinks during its grand opening celebration on Monday, January 28. Hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. For more details, visit GreaterThan Coffee’s Facebook page.
