It was probably inevitable.
In light of the excitement generated by deliciously bad-for-you deep-fried goodies traditionally found at the fair and at festivals, now there’s a new restaurant called Festival Foods Services, dishing up said naughty treats all the time. And not ironically, it’s in the Arizona Mills Mall food court, which feels like a mobbed carnival at times.
Festival Foods Services isn’t new to the area, only to the restaurant scene; the company has catered events such as NASCAR, the Fiesta Bowl Block Party, and the Tempe Oktoberfest. So expect eats along the lines of what you’d find at the fair — gyros, Italian sausage, funnel cakes, fry bread, deep-fried Twinkies and Snickers, and more.
A grand opening event is scheduled for Wednesday, January 20. Visitors will receive a free four-inch Philly cheesesteak and an Arizona lottery ticket between 12:30 and 2:30 p.m., and between 5 and 7 p.m.
