Interested in hearing an evaluation of central Asian Pomegranates? How ’bout a how-to on growing guavas in arid climates or a tour of the Tropica Mango Rare and Exotic Fruit Nursery? If you’re a freak for fruit or just berry curious (sorry), then the Festival of Fruit is for you.
From Thursday, November 3, through Sunday, November 6, the Arizona Rare Fruit Growers (AZRFG), a chapter of the California Rare Fruit Growers, will be hosting this year’s festival celebrating the year of the pomegranate. Tours of local greenhouses, nurseries, and farms happen each day with with the main event being Saturday, November 5. That’s when fruit fans can enjoy activities including a plant sale, classes on canning and caring for fruits such as pomegranates, apples, guavas, and figs, a pomegranate tasting, and a tour of the ASU Arboretum.
Tickets are $45 and do not include lunch or dinner. Registration is required for some of the activities. For more information go here. To register, go here.
