Rum the presses! It seems Tommy Bahama, the island-inspired brand of clothing, home furnishings, restaurants, and its own brand of rum, has been scouring the country looking for their first “rumologist” (a person with a vast knowledge of all things related to rum), and have narrowed their selection to twenty. In the rumming, er, running, is spirits expert, ex-wine director at Oakville Grocery Co., and “Sumosommelier” David Johnson.

Johnson, who calls himself “Rum Numb Davey” on his blog, says he’s right for the rumologist position (and the $50,000 prize plus a Tommy Bahama wardrobe) based on his expertise, casual style, and passion for the rums of the world.

“Like” the Tommy Bahama Facebook page to see the rest of the rumologists (rumologi?) and vote for your favorite. Voting ends on Thursday, September 8.
