Did you know you can grow bananas and mangoes in your own back yard? Ya, we didn’t think so, either. There’s a FREE event this Saturday July 9th from 8 – 10 a.m. at the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension office where you can learn how to get started. NxT Horizon Group will be hosting their first Powerhome backyard garden tour at the extension office.
A powerhome “is a home that produces more resources ($) than it consumes. One of the most powerful means of doing this is through backyard farming.” If you’ve been waiting to learn how to grow bananas (and other rare fruit) and needed the kick in the pants to get started, here’s a perfect chance to get going.
Get the rest of the details after the jump.
If you would like to go, please RSVP here. The University of Arizona Cooperative Extension office is located at 4341 East Broadway Road in Phoenix.
