One of my friends had her hands full today with her two kids on winter break, which reminded me of some kids’ cooking classes I heard about recently.
Next week, there’s a three-day class going on at Sur La Table at Kierland Commons, where kids age 8 and up will learn how to make all kinds of dishes, from homemade pasta alla chitarra to creme brulee. How cute is that? It’s $125 for the series, and sessions start at 10:30 a.m. next Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, December 29-31.
Then on Saturday, January 3, they have a one-day class ($55) that starts at noon, open to kids age 6 and up (must be accompanied by an adult). What a genius idea — teach the kids how to make guacamole and paninis and chocolate chip cookies, then let them take care of dinner. Ah, so this is why people have children . . . — Michele Laudig
