Earlier this week we talked about McKenna Pope, a 13-year-old girl who launched an online petition for Hasbro to market their Easy-Bake Oven in a more gender neutral manner so it would appeal to her younger brother, Gavyn Boscio. Now Hasbro has addressed those concerns directly, inviting the family to their corporate headquarters to show off their newest line of Easy-Bake Oven which ditch the pink and purple scheme of the current ovens in favor of blue, black and silver.

Hasbro says that these new colors have been underdevelopment and that they had hoped to introduce them in February at a major toy convention. In addition to the sneak peek, Hasbro also says that they’ll be changing their marketing to reflect the salient point that both boys and girls enjoy baking treats.

Unfortunately for Gavyn, the gender neutral sets won’t be hitting the streets until the summer. He’ll have to content himself with the Easy-Bake Oven the TV show “Inside Edition” bought him in response to the original story.

All told, Pope’s petition for equality netted over 44,000 signatures and the attention and support from famous chefs including Bobby Flay and Manuel Trevino.
