$10,000

Earlier this year we told you that J-Licious Food Truck was taking things brick-and-mortar with plans to open a restaurant on Roosevelt Row. Well, the time has finally come, and now owner and chef Jordan Keane and her mother, Lynne R. Kean (she goes by “MaMaJ”), are ready to open the doors to J-Licious Tasty Teazy Taqueria.

The restaurant opens today at 11 a.m. at 610 East Roosevelt Street, #152, in Artisan Village. Keane will serve lunch until 2:30 p.m. and dinner from 4 to 11 p.m.

The taqueria will serve a daily menu of Keane’s Oaxaca-style food fused with classic French techniques. That means dishes like the chef’s signature Duck U tacos, which feature duck confit, slaw, fire and ice chutney, char-roasted salsa and garnet winter beet.

Keane founded Titillating T-Licious Tacos with former-business partner Cathy “Red” McGoldrick in 2011, though the pair split up less than a year later. The truck was just about the be featured on Food Network’s Street Eats. Since then, Keane has been running the J-Licious truck with the help of MaMaJ.
