I can’t stop staring at the cover of Plain and Fancy Desserts, which I found at an antique store in Cleveland last year.
There’s some kind of conspiracy going on here. I think Nabisco is involved. And I love how this big, white, gelatined dessert is draped in red velvet and framed in gilt, like it’s a portrait of Great-Great Grandma and not a three-color photo of some kind of spastic marzipan.
Are those Oreos?
