We’ve always felt doughnuts were art. The brightly colored sprinkles against contrasting pastel and chocolatey colored glaze easily lend themselves to myriad Instagrammable shots, but local photographer Mo Neuharth has taken it a step further. Her Catalogue of Donuts book playfully blurs the lines between gratuitous food porn and fine art, all in a DIY zine-like package.

“I had the idea when I was walking to the doughnut shop one morning and so I had to do it,” Neuharth says, and it’s really as simple as that.
The 20-print book features only doughnuts that “were once edible,” according to her Etsy page. She says they came from a range of spots around town like Nami, Bosa Donuts, Rainbow Donuts, Dunkin’ Donuts, Arizona Donut Co., and even Circle K.

The book is bound in either powder pink or sparkly purple material and then put in a hand-stamped brown paper bag that’s befitting of any good smutty booklet, except this time it’s a little sweeter than that.
You can pick up a copy of the first edition of the Catalogue of Donuts while supplies last on Neuharth’s Etsy page, though there are only 12 of 35 left. However, she says she plans to print more later this year in preparation for an upcoming book fair she will attend in Detroit.
