Italian Wine Dinner Just because Restaurant Week is over doesn’t mean you should sit at your house and wait till next year to check out Valley restaurants. Throw caution to the wind, hit the town on a Tuesday. North Scottsdale’s Maggiano’s is hosting an Italian wine dinner tomorrow night. From 6 to 9 p.m. indulge on Five rich courses paired with wines from Jacobs Creek, St. Jean, and Matchbook wines. Menu highlights include a poached baby heirloom tomato salad, grilled shrimp cannelloni, roasted portabella mushrooms, veal Saltimbocca Roulade, and a dark chocolate pear cannoli. Reservations are a must, $60 (all inclusive) per person. Call 480-333-4100 to save your seat.
Chicken Parm PieUpon first glance, we thought this was just a pretty pot pie — then we discovered it was something totally different. Waiting under that golden layer of flaky crust lies something we weren’t expecting — the color red. Combine tomatoes, shredded chicken, seasonings and cheese (lots of it) together to make this easy Chicken Parm Skillet Pot Pie. It’s like having the garlic bread baked right on top of your meal. It sounds delicious, we might even make it for ourselves tonight.
