Matt and Erenia Pool plan to open a still-unnamed central Phoenix coffee shop, presumably to tide their fans over between a salami scramble at Matt’s Big Breakfast and a grilled cheese with tomato soup (and an Arrogant Bastard Ale) at The Roosevelt.
Matt Pool says he’s putting the new hangout in the Merz Project building, at 1437 N. 1st Street (at McDowell). “They’re my friends, they asked me to do it,” he says about his new location.
The timeline is up in the air.
“It’ll probably be sometime in the next couple of months,” Pool says. “Probably when it’s 120 out.”
