In mere hours, a new year will be upon us and chances are pretty high you’ll be drinking away the last night of 2015 and into the first hours of 2016.
The downside? You might wake up hungover on the first day of the New Year. But don’t fear. If you head to any Arizona Food City store tomorrow, January 1, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., you can nab a free small bowl of menudo if you dine in at the deli department. You can find a Food City location near you here.
Menudo, if you’re not familiar, is a spicy soup that’s usually made with with lime, onions, cilantro, oregano, and red peppers. Most variations also feature beef tripe, which is renowned for its hangover-curing properties. And regardless of whether or not it actually works to cure your raging headache, at least it’ll be free.
Here’s to starting 2016 off right.
Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $17,250 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
