You can count the number of Cuban options in the Valley on one hand — but now, at least, you’ll need an extra finger. Babaloo’s Cuban Cafe is an intriguing new option.
Chef-ower Robert Gonzalez, chef Justin Poole, and pastry chef Mayra Gonzalez have crafted a tasty-looking menu with all the traditional Cuban specialties you’re craving. . . .or is that me who’s craving them? True, it’s been waaaay too long since I’ve inhaled a good Cuban sandwich. Luckily, they have one at Babaloo’s, and it’s even called the “Infamous Cuban Sandwich.”
Located in Ahwatukee, at 1241 E. Chandler Blvd., the restaurant is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Sunday. Grand opening festivities, including live music and dance, are scheduled for Saturday, June 28, from 5 p.m. until close.
