Is Phoenix the last major city to have a sushi restaurant in its downtown? Until now, the sushi boom has happened elsewhere in the Valley, especially in Scottsdale.
So tomorrow night is kind of historic, isn’t it? That’s when Moira Sushi (215 E. McKinley) opens its doors at 5 p.m. (Friday, March 27), adding yet another dot to connect in the burgeoning downtown dining scene. In terms of restaurant/bar hopping on foot (yes, there are actual pedestrians these days!), think of Moira as a handy stop between Sens/PastaBar/The Turf/The Breadfruit and The Roosevelt.
The menu features nigiri, temaki, sashimi, and specialty rolls, along with udon soup; crab sunomono; chilled scallops in citrus sauce with Thai basil, Thai chili, and scallions; tempura; and a variety of stirfries.
