Here at New Times, we’ve long been vocal about our love for the Cornish Pasty Co., and how we wished the popular Tempe eatery would serve its savory, flaky English pies all across the Valley. And guess what? They just opened a second location in Mesa last Saturday.
The place looks great — bright and airy, with espresso-colored stained concrete floors, church pew seats, glass-topped tables cut from wooden doors, a row of seats along the open kitchen, and an awesome free jukebox featuring everything from The Pixies to The Kinks to The Sword. (After hearing some of the rowdy songs in the rotation at lunch today, it was seriously tempting to order one of those Belgian beers…).
The address is 1941 W. Guadalupe, but the restaurant is actually on the east side of Dobson, just south of the Guadalupe intersection (next door to The Copper Kettle). Call 480-838-3586 for info.
