The challenges facing local news organizations are very real. That's why reader support matters more than ever. If you believe independent journalism matters, make a contribution today and help us reach our summer fundraising goal of $15,000 by August 9.
With spring in full bloom and the mercury rising, now is the time when we start craving fresh, light salads.
Enter Marketplace, the new eatery from the folks behind Arcadia Farms. Located at 7025 E. 1st Avenue, directly across the street from the Arcadia Farms in Old Town Scottsdale, Marketplace offers coffee, baked goods, farm-fresh salads and sandwiches that locals can pick up from the counter and go.
There’s no seating inside — which could be rough come a few months from now — but the outdoor patio tables with umbrellas offer a shady spot to sit and relax over lunch.
Menu highlights include curry chicken salad with green apples, raisins and peanuts on baby greens ($8), quiche Lorraine with gruyere and fontina ($6.95), and a pressed chicken sandwich with bacon, brie, caramelized onions and mayonnaise on a baguette ($8). For dessert, there are brownies, cookies, and baby cakes ($5.95).
Marketplace is open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
